Carol Stott being put through her paces by Aled JonesOn Sunday 19 March the story of Trinity Church's move to its new home in the Building Blocks Centre, and the pioneering inter-faith work done at the Centre by Faith Together in Leeds 11, featured in the BBC TV programme Songs of Praise, broadcast at 5pm on Sunday afternoons on BBC1. The programme looked at the way faith can change and transform people's lives and their local communities.

Presenter Aled Jones visited Building Blocks in February with a production team to meet and film some of the staff and children. He is pictured with our minister, the Revd Neil Bishop, and during an interview with one of our church members – and a volunteer at Building Blocks during the week – Carol Stott. You can see more pictures by going to the 'News' page of the Building Blocks website.

The Building Blocks CentreChildren in our crecheBuilding Blocks from Tempest RoadTrinity Church aims to be at the heart of the local community, serving its needs and offering a witness to the love of God. We are partners in an ambitious project with the Holy Spirit Church and two Muslim charities which has turned our former church buildings on Tempest Road into a modern Worship and Community Space, a Healthy Living Centre for older people and a Parents' Resource Centre for young parents and their children. Our stall at the Beeston festivalThe 'Building Blocks' Centre opened in September 2003. It is now our home within the project where we worship on Sundays.

Last summer we had a stall at the Beeston Festival where people could have free refreshments, leave prayer requests and pick up information about all our work. For more information about the many weekday activities at the Centre, please visit the Faith Together in Leeds 11 website.

Muticultural street market outside Building BlocksMuticultural street marketWe are glad that our church is set in a vibrant multi-cultural neighbourhood, as you will also see from the pictures showing some of our members taking part in a multi-cultural street market outside the Centre, which was the brain-child of one of our church stewards. While we want to celebrate our Christian heritage we also want people of all faiths and none to live in harmony together.

If you join us on Sundays in our new worship space you will find our services thought provoking but relaxed.

They're sometimes traditional and sometimes not, though we sing quite a lot of modern songs! Why not come and see for yourself?
